Penticton, BC

Okanagan Hockey Training Centre

The Rockets started off the game hot with a quick goal from Nathan Gossoo making it 1-0 with less than thirty seconds into the first period. Both Brayden Skogstad and Kaslo Ferner left the game early for precautionary reasons. With a short bench and a quick shuffled of lines the Rockets made it 2-0 with a goal scored from Koehn Obuck (1G) as a powerplay just expired. Joushua Sale of the Cougars scored off a battle net front battle to bring the Cats within one. But just 26 seconds later Dante Nunes (1G, 1A) blasted a shot past a well screen goalie from just inside the blue line just before the 2nd period ended.

In the dying minutes of the third period the Rockets while still up 3-1 took an untimely penalty to give the Cats an opportunity to make the final minutes even more exciting. Angelo Zol and the rest of the penalty kill units went to work to preserve the 3-1 win as the Cougars chose to leave their goalie in the net against the aggressive killing Rockets who have scored several shorthand goals already this year.
