The Okanagan Rockets continued league play this past weekend against the NW Hawks hosted at the North Shore Winter Club on Saturday and Sunday.

Game 1 vs NW Hawks

October 19th, 2019

The Okanagan Rockets without Kaslo Ferner(Game Misconduct), Connor Seeley (Minor Midget AP) and Dante Nunes (IR). The game started out on the Rockets side with a clean self-chip break out from Lian Gayfer (1A) who raced down the boards with Caleb deHoog (1G) on a two on one. Caleb who was streaking down the middle took the seam pass in the slot for a quick shot and goal putting the Rockets up 1-0. Later in that period the NW Hawks tied the game on the power play. The Rockets outshot the Hawks 20-1 in the third period but couldn’t break the 1-1 tie in regulation. In OT the Rockets pressed, killed off a 4 on 3 powerplay from the hawks and the game ended in a tie.

Game 2 vs NW Hawks

October 20th, 2019

The Rockets welcomed Kaslo Ferner back to the line-up and looked to make up for Saturday’s tie. The Rockets opened the first period with three goals scored by Spencer Fleck (1G), Kaslo Ferner (1G), and Malachi Freh (1G). The Rockets contined to dominate in the second period proving to be too much for the NW Hawks goaltender scoring two more goals from Caleb deHoog (1G) and Brayden Skogstad (1G,1A). In the 3rd period with the score 5-0 the Rockets added three more goals by Lian Gayfer (1G,1A) Brayden Skogstad (2G, 1A) and Nathan Gossoo (1G, 2A) tally the last goal to end the game 8-0.

Angelo Zol and Colton Jugnauth held the Hawks to only 1 goal over two games while Angelo collected the shutout.
