Rob comes to the Rockets after 5 years with the Valley West Hawks as a Head Coach and GM. His first year as GM of the OKR will also see him taking over the Okanagan Zone Lead - Operations & Player Development in which he is directly overseeing 11 teams in the Okanagan.

Rob brings 20 years of coaching experience with 14 years at the Bantam and Midget AAA level, 5 between University and Jr A in Alberta.

Rob also bring 5 years of scouting experience in the WHL and has been the lead evaluator for 2 yrs in the U16 Team BC Program of Excellence.

Head Coach- Eric Blais

Eric returns to the Okanagan Rocket Program after a successful season with the Central Zone Bantam AA Rockets in 2018-19. This is Eric’s first season as the Head Coach of the Minor Midget Program, after spending 2 years – 2016-18 - at the helm of the Okanagan Rockets Major Midget team.

Eric also spent 5 years with the BC High performance program as a district evaluator for the Thompson Okanagan region, and was an Associate coach for Team BC for the 2015 Canada Winter Games, and again in 2016 for the Western Branch Challenge.

Eric was also the Head Coach for Kelowna Minor hockey, as well as Head Coach for the Midget T1 program and guided them to two Provincial titles, and Head Coach of a Bantam AA team that won a Provincial title.

He is excited for this season, and looking to defend the Provincial Championship that the Minor Midget Rockets won in the BC Hockey’s Minor Midget inaugural season.

Carters return to the Okanagan Rockets program after spending the the 14/15 season as one of the teams top defensemen.  Carter joins Coach Blais for his first season behind the bench after his recent playing career finished up in the AJHL with the Bonnyville Pontiacs.

Carter has spent his off seasons working with younger players through different camps like OHS and KMHA in order to develop his teaching skills. 

 

Carter has taken what he has learned from hockey and developed a passion for health and wellness while studying Economics and Biology at the University of British Columbia. He looks forward to helping out the Okanagan Minor Rockets Program and giving back to the game he loves.

Luke is a kinesiologist/strength and conditioning coach excited for his second season with the Rockets organization.  

 

Growing up in the Kootenays, winters revolved around hockey before completing a Human Kinetics degree at UBCO.  After graduating in 2013, Luke spent the majority of the next five years in Vancouver gaining world class experience from the likes of Peter Twist (Vancouver Canucks former strength and conditioning coach of 11 seasons).  

 

Luke is based out of PRIME Physiotherapy & Performance in Kelowna where he works with athletes of all sports and ages.  He looks forward to bringing his sport performance and rehab knowledge to help support the team.
